In this critical role, Barney will work with public safety, government agencies and wireless operators to identify opportunities where the reliable, sub-second calling performance of the Kodiak Broadband PTT solution can enhance mission support and ultimately mission critical communications.

“Mike’s broad experience developing solutions for Homeland Security, national security, and first responder communications will help us greatly as we collaborate with our carrier partners and public safety on how to best use Broadband PTT to improve inter-agency communication and collaboration.” said Bruce Lawler, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, Kodiak. “The industry’s convergence around the Mission Critical PTT standard makes this the perfect time for Mike to join Kodiak and contribute to the industry’s migration to Broadband PTT.

In this role, Barney will work with public safety organizations, including FirstNet and Public Safety Communications Research, participating in definition of the requirements for mission critical PTT communications. Barney will also work with Kodiak ecosystem partners to develop solutions that leverage the continuous network coverage and real-time connectivity delivered by Kodiak-powered PTT services to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of emergency response.
