Kodiak is pleased to share the news that AT&T is new the first major U.S. wireless carrier to offer both ISSI and CSSI connectivity. This enables land mobile radio (LMR) users more ways to include Enhanced Push-to-Talk (EPTT) users into their talk groups: network-to-network interoperability in addition to PTT-LMR interoperability through dispatch console systems. AT&T's reliable PTT-LMR interoperability with integrated priority call treatment and network access, opens communications beyond defined LMR geographic limits to nationwide, enabling the 2-way radios and mobile phones with the user-friendly Enhanced Push-to-Talk app to participate in the same talk groups. AT&T is also able to offer - good news for public safety, transportation agencies and public departments that depend on LMR solutions to connect and communicate.
As one of the ISSI pilot customers is quoted in the article: “AT&T’s unique offering is simple, scalable and reliable,” said Steve Graves, chief information officer, City of Richardson, Texas. “It’s the next evolution of Land Mobile Radio. It’s a cost effective solution that’s removing the most expensive part of the radio system, the radio itself! ISSI is empowering us to communicate on an open standard interface and making it easier to integrate AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk."
